Type Without Looking. Rest Your Eyes.

I’m writing this blog post while my head is resting on my arm and my eyes are closed. To the casual observer it will look as though I’m sleep-typing. In any case, this is a very comfortable position in which to type when you’ve been on the computer staring at a monitor screen for more than 10 hours a day, sometimes 15 hours a day, for the last several months. There are, of course, many ways to rest your eyes and to prevent strain on them – the most common sense approach being: TURN THE  #%@$&*# COMPUTER OFF. However, if that is not an option I advise all of my fellow computer / internet professionals to just lay your head down and type your next blog post with your eyes closed. You’ll actually notice you can gather your thoughts much easier because you are not being distracted and you are much more relaxed. Give your eyes a break even if you can’t stop using the computer.
